Here at Celebration, we take turns in various leadership and service functions
Bring your talents and skills to a team.
Our Leadership Team (LT) gathers monthly in meetings that are open to anyone. Generally these meetings are held in homes , but they have also been held at Christ Episcopal Church .
Active members and friends of Celebration participate in Servant Teams which share tasks setting up Sunday worship and coffee hour for one month at a time, twice a year. When you participate in a Servant Team, your team will divvy up such tasks as setting up for communion, putting out our signs, greeting folks as they arrive, collecting the offering, reading Scripture during worship, helping to serve communion, providing goodies, making coffee, and cleaning up afterward. If you’d like to participate in a Servant Team, contact Charlotte Spada.
We have a Care Team that responds to needs among our members and friends when we become aware of them. We provide meals following an injury, surgery, or death in the family. Our Care Team also lifts up prayer concerns as we become aware of them. If you would like to help with this ministry of compassion, or know of a need we might address in some way, do contact Rita James.
Our Worship Team meets to plan and review ideas for seasonal worship innovations, coordinate Assisting Ministers, and arrange for training to make sure we are bringing our best to our worship life. The Worship Team doesn’t have a regularly scheduled meeting time, but generally those meeting times and locations are announced at least one Sunday before they take place. If you would like to attend and/or participate in those creative discussions, contact Susan Wood or Judith Bosworth.
We don’t have an official “Fellowship Team”, but we do have our resident Maven of Fun, Cynthia Aanestad. We really like doing things together, getting silly playing cards, dressing up for Halloween, barbecuing in the summer (at Pastor’s home at least annually!), and pot-lucking periodically. Cynthia has offered her home for festivities on the Fourth of July; we hear tell that she’s got a great view of fireworks over the water!
We don’t have a specific team for Outreach/Marketing/Evangelism, but when folks get a good idea they’d like to try, talk to our Leadership Team President. If there’s no budget impact, we might not need to take it to the full LT, but would love to help you get the word out and gather other interested folks to participate. We do have banners used on our Fourth of July float (aka, Doug’s truck!) that can be used in other settings. T-shirts, brochures, rack cards, business cards, website development, event or festival participation…. What’s your idea?
Sunday worship at 9:30 a.m. at the Depot Arts Center, 611 R. Avenue, Anacortes WA.
